The Indonesian government’s initiative to transform digital radio broadcasting has begun to be rolled out facilitating the transition of analogue to digital radio transmission with a simulcast system. These technological changes, if carried out comprehensively, could result in maximum digital radio broadcasting ecosystems. A characteristic feature of this simulcast system is that the radio broadcaster can broadcast it through analogue and digital frequencies simultaneously. Despite its high practical relevance, little systematic knowledge about why analogue and digital radio broadcast simulcast systems need to be done to keep pace with the development of broadcasting technology in this digital age. This research contributes to the future perspective of radio broadcasting by exploring the ecosystem factors of the multi-platform simulcast broadcast model. Based on qualitative analysis of the simulcast system (analog and digital) on the Internet in the broadcast industry. The research identifies several factors: (1) terrestrial analogue radio, (2) terrestrial digital radio, (3) internet radio and human resources, (4) analogue and digital simulcast systems, as well as the Internet multi-social media platforms.Downloads
